Your data
Data and Account Deletion
Your debt data is yours. Leaving should be as easy as joining.
Delete it yourself
Sign in and open your dashboard settings. You can delete individual debts and payments at any time, or delete your whole account. Account deletion removes your profile, debts, payments, goals, milestones, badges and progress.
Ask us to delete it
If you cannot sign in, email privacy@howiclearedmydebts.com from the address on the account. We will verify it is you, action the deletion, and confirm in writing — normally within thirty days.
Export first if you want a copy
Deletion is permanent and we cannot restore data afterwards. If you want a record of your payoff journey, export your data before you delete — premium plans include CSV exports, and you can request a copy of your data on any plan.
What we may have to keep
- Payment and invoice records our payment provider and tax law require us to retain.
- Records of consents and legal notices, kept as proof that we handled your data properly.
- Security and abuse logs, kept for a limited period and not linked to your debt figures.
- Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics that can no longer identify you.
Membership and deletion
Deleting your account does not automatically end a subscription billed through a third party, so cancel your membership first (or ask us to) and then delete. If you delete while a paid period is running, we do not refund the remainder unless local law says otherwise.
