Complaints Process

If we get something wrong, we want to know and we want to fix it.

Step 1 — Tell us

Email support@howiclearedmydebts.com with "Complaint" in the subject line. Include the email address on your account, what happened, when it happened, and what you would like us to do to put it right. Screenshots help.

Step 2 — We acknowledge

We aim to acknowledge every complaint within two working days and tell you who is handling it.

Step 3 — We investigate and respond

We aim to give you a full written response within fifteen working days. If we need longer — for example, if a payment provider has to investigate too — we will tell you why and give you a revised date.

Step 4 — If you are still unhappy

  • Reply and ask for the complaint to be reviewed by someone who was not involved the first time.
  • For billing disputes, you also retain your rights with your card issuer or payment provider.
  • For consumer rights complaints, your national consumer protection body can consider the matter.
  • For data protection complaints, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

What we cannot handle

We are not a regulated debt adviser, lender or debt collector, so we cannot handle complaints about your creditors, a debt solution you have entered, or advice given by another organisation. A free regulated debt-advice service in your country can help with those.
